Getting There

By air

There are currently three major airlines offering flights from Denpasar/Bali to Labuan Bajo. TransNusa (in cooperation with Trigana and Riau Airlines) and Merpati fly daily, Wings Air serves Labuan Bajo trhree times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flight schedules and ticket prices vary throughout the year and are available on request. Please allow between 65 to 110 US $ per person one way (prices differ quite significantly and sometimes promotional offers are available). It is recommended to make flight reservations prior to your arrival in Bali since seats are limited, especially in the high season from July to Mid-September.

Merpati Nusantara Airlines

Unfortunately domestic flights in Indonesia are still occasionally subject to unexpected delays or changes in schedule. Whoever travels beyond Bali will be rewarded with plenty of unforgettable impressions, but also have to bring along the necessary flexibility and patience.

By boat

For visitors who decide to travel on public buses (and inter-island ferries) all the way overland from Bali via Lombok and Sumbawa to Flores, there is a daily ferry connection from Sape on Sumbawa to Labuan Bajo, usually leaving around 8 o’clock in the morning and arriving around 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

The big Pelni ferry serves Flores from Bali only every other week, but is often difficult to integrate into a two- or three week holiday schedule. The trip takes around 32 hours.

Perama Tour & Travel offers boat trips from Lombok to Labuan Bajo and back.
